What Brain Games is
Brain Games is a free collection of tools that lets anyone casually check their own cognition right in the browser, with no sign-up or installation. It measures abilities used often in daily life, such as reaction time, short-term (working) memory, and short-term memory (digit span), through quick games, and explains what each one means to help you understand your results.
Operating principles (E-E-A-T)
- Experience — The measurement methods are designed with reference to the structure of simple reaction time, digit span, and spatial working memory tasks used in real cognitive testing.
- Expertise — Grades and averages are guided by widely known cognitive-science benchmarks such as simple reaction time of 200-270ms and a digit span of 7±2.
- Authoritativeness — We clearly lay out in the guide what each game measures and its limits (such as the transfer problem), without hiding them.
- Trustworthiness — We clearly note that scores are reference figures that depend on the measurement environment and your condition, and we do not collect or store your inputs or scores.
About scores and data
Every score here is a for-fun reference figure that varies with the measurement environment (device performance, input lag, display refresh rate) and your condition. A simple reaction time measurement includes not only your human reaction time but also the lag of the mouse, touch, monitor, and browser. Memory grades are likewise simplified standards from generally known ranges, not a medical diagnosis or an official cognitive assessment.
If you notice persistent changes in your memory or focus that interfere with daily life, do not rely on game scores; please consult a professional medical institution.
